AWARDS BANQUET
Annually, we honor
our members accomplishments at our awards banquet.
At our banquet our members receive awards for
titles earned the previous year and, our new
officers of the Board of Directors are installed.
In addition, we hold a Special Awards ceremony to
recognize those members who display good
sportsmanship, loyalty to the club, high scoring
dogs, team of distinction, the individual who has
provided the most assistance to the board, and
member of the year. Click here

BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Rand Park is a
totally volunteer-run organization and depends on
our Board of Directors, instructors, committees,
and members to keep the club active. Our Board is
elected by the membership each year. The Board
and committee members meet regularly on the third
Friday of each month.
CGC TEST
We give our new
students their first opportunity to earn an AKC
"title" on their dog by offering a
Canine Good Citizenship test between the winter
and spring training sessions. This certificate
tells them that they are on their way to a well-trained
dog!
COMMUNITY EVENTS
In 1980 a big dream
came true for the club when we purchased the
first hearing dog in the state of Illinois. As a
result, more hearing dogs have since been placed
in our state.
In 1973 and 1975 the
club purchased and donated tranquilizer guns for
the Des Plaines and Park Ridge police departments.
CONTRIBUTIONS
The club has also
made numerous donations to: the Morris Animal
Foundation which works toward cures for animal
disease; the North Carolina Hurricane Fund which
aided animals after the 1999 devastation; Canine
Epilepsy; Companion Dogs; and aiding the
handicapped. Donations were made to Search and
Rescue Dogs and the Chicago Tribune Disaster
Relief Fund following the September 11th, 2001
tragedies.
DEMO TEAM
In 1977, a dog
demonstration team was formed to promote dog
obedience and good will towards canines in our
community. Our team has performed at grade
schools, high schools, senior centers, and
private clubs, and continues to be active in the
community.
MEMBERSHIP MEETINGS
The club holds four meetings per year for the
general membership. The membership meetings are
held in October, January, March, and April, on
Tuesday nights after the evening's last training
class.
